I have to admit I am a fan of almost anything deep fried ! In my mind these appetizers were way out of my cooking league. Than the wonton wrappers called my name at the store and I even had a moment of creativity to make up a sweet treat for dessert. While they are time consuming they are so much fun to make and delicious !
Ingredients-
1 pack imitation crab meat
1 8 oz package cream cheese
1 cup sour cream
garlic *as much as you can handle
dash of Worcestershire
1 Pack Wonton Wrappers
1 Egg Beaten
*Oil for frying
Directions –
Shred crab meat
Mix together crab, cream cheese, sour cream, garlic, Worcestershire sauce
Spoon mix onto wonton wrapper – use caution to not over fill
Apply egg mixture around edges and pinch together * It took me about 4 before they stopped looking like my toddler put them together
Deep Fry in batches at 350º until golden brown
~To serve all at once after frying put on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or paper towels to soak up extra oil – top with a towel and keep in the oven on your keep warm setting aka 170º
Get creative and make up something sweet too – I made banana, chocolate chip, cinnamon bites for dessert….yummmy !! Next time I think I will try apple pie wontons — the possibilities seem endless !
