How baby moo’s make their way to the farm

Spring has arrived at the farm. Magic is in the air with the sun peaking over the butte’s and the newest additions playing a game of hide and seek between their 2000 pound mothers.

My little man had a big week-end. Not only did he get to ride in Grandpa’s new tractor with a special fold down seat just for him; he also saw the miracle of life. Now that he is three you can really see those little gears turning.

Baby Moo’s from the eye’s of a toddler……

Feeding the “girls” is one of my favorite morning activities. You get to ride tractors, and four-wheelers while some hairy four legged ladies wait enthusiastically at the gate for a new hay bale. My little eye’s grew wide as we came around the hay feeder and there was a mommy moo birthing her calf. Now being three I now know everything (just ask me at dinner when mom tries to feed me vegtables, those are yucky!)  so I knew right away what was happening. I’ve seen all the fat cows and understand that they have babies in their tummies. I have helped feed baby moo’s when they are ready to eat but they are being bad and not eating their breakfast from their mom’s. I told Grandpa that sometimes they won’t eat because the mommy isn’t giving them chocolate milk.  This was the first time I got to see how the baby moo get’s out of the tummy. So the mommy went poop and then there was a baby moo. How cool was that. I will proceed to tell everyone I see the next week that the mommy moo needed to poop out the baby moo. I will even use sound effects to make sure that people get the point. Gosh, do you know how many adults don’t know how baby moo’s come to the farm.

I for one am looking forward to hearing more from the eye’s of my toddler about the adventures of the farm !
