Bread Machine Pretzels

Trying to find plane food for the bush pilots is hard ….well not really they will pretty much eat anything after being out in the Alaska Bush for a few weeks.  Step one find a finger food that is not too messy since they are in the air the majority of the day with no where to wash up. That does not need to be kept warm or cold during the drastic temperature changes that an unpressurised airplane faces between take off and landing. That will be filling and not take up too much space in their flight bag…… conclusion – Pretzel Bites ! – With a little help from my bread machine a tasty plane snack is always just a few hours away from landing. Pretzels

Bread Machine Hamburger Buns

I have come to the realization that no matter how “convenient” it may be to just buy bread or buns from the store they just taste awful! Why buy processed when you can make your own at home. I love using my bread machine to make more bread at home without having to devote my entire day to kneading and mixing dough….. Hamburger Buns

Swirl Bread

Baking Day !!
I Love the house smelling like homemade bread ! Thank Goodness for my bread maker taking all the hard work out of it. While I love to form the bread, and bake it into cute shapes; the remembering to go knead it is just beyond my baking capacity.

Along side my “plane” bread for the week,  I try to bake something with a little sweetness to it. My Plane bread is something basic in roll form for my husband to take to work as a bush pilot. Russian Kulich is the house favorite plane bread. I love Cinnamon Rolls made into toast form.  To mix it up a little I made a surprise roll of sorts with cinnamon and walnuts in the center. They tasted even better this morning with coffee — yummmm !
