Here comes the crazy baking season.
Sticking with typical pilot wife holiday planning we are having two Thanksgiving Meals. One on the actual Turkey Day and one early with family. If I didn’t write down a game plan I would forget the pumpkin pie (Sorry Mom, I still feel bad about you missing out on the pie 10 years later)

After a summer of camper living (yeah long story) we just moved into the garage (maybe a really long story) and now I have a kitchen again….Thrilled to be cooking on something other then a grill and having more variety to cook I am going a little crazy getting back into my monthly meal planning and prepping. In my week of getting organized I figured I better get all of my other random account info together and put in my binder. While some sites I go to each month to pay bills or order tea, others I go to very rarely thanks to auto pay.
Twice this last week I had to call banks because I forgot my online log in info. During my big move I went from being sort of organized to using sticky notes. Well, those notes often go into the shredder because I HATE STICKY NOTES… that leads to me not being able to get online and pay my house payment.
I finally got my last W2 and taxes are done !! With all the changes and big move over this last year the past few months have been crazy. I finally have my home “office” back together and now am working on having my everything within reach binder.
Even if my hubby wasn’t on a crazy pilot schedule of always on never off I would still have a list of things to do. Changing from being in the corporate world to being a stay at home mom (yeah I spelled it out …I hate when people use SAHM, really just spell people!) I like to have my “brain” with me each day. My brain not being the one living on caffeine and slobbery kisses, but the one that keeps me on task…well as on task as I can be.
I love the answers that not only I come up with, but family and friends on holiday quizzes. Even when I take the same “test” each year, I can come up with some funny answers. For each holiday toss copies of the monthly quiz on the coffee table, give everyone plenty of time to come up with answers…but no cheating this is screen zombie free zone. Then read out loud what a wiz kid you are at the holiday’s!
Birthdays sneak up on me every year. It’s not like they are a surprise, heck they happen on the same day every year. I believe it is a family trait that just keeps going from generation to generation. If any of us actually got a card or present on our real birthday it just wouldn’t seem the same. I remember being a kid and my mom finding presents that she “hide” months later. It made holidays last for months with surprises hidden everywhere from the wood box to the barn. Combat the holiday chaos this year and get everything done. Heck you can even pretend you are on a top cooking show, cause yeah… you are just that good!
